Whatever it fetches on eBay won't be far off the real world value. You've a good chance of doing better than a private ad.

I've just looked at the eBay ad. Very nice car. I see there's no reserve so it's selling from the first bid. Better check the eBay small print about pulling the auction if you aren't happy with the price. It's certainly unethical, probably not allowable. You may be able to add a reserve before a bid is placed. I wouldn't worry though, it'll probably do ok.
Do an 'advanced search' in eBay on completed listings for other Legacies and see what they went for.

To be honest I think £1950 is a bit optimistic on this. Its 10 years old and 95k which will put quite a few people off. Its likely to sell to someone who wants a workhorse for towing/carting etc. I would have said £1300-£1500 would be reasonable minimum expection.
If you've not put a reserve then it sells for whatever the last bidder puts on it.
|
You can end items early with some restrictions - so you could cancel the bids and relist. Manage the bidders with some contact & explanation. Ethical? - well it's your call.

If its any help. I sold my legacy estate -late '97 R Reg GLS spec with electric roof, 4 new tyres, load liner, immaculate inside and out, two owners (myself last 4 years and friends wife from new)12 months MOT and full FSH with 90k miles some 10 months ago for £1900.Spent £200+ on local ads and free 'in car' adverts.Took 3 months to sell.Only sold as surplus to requirements because I run a commercial for work 6 days a week.Would buy it back tomorrow!!
Even in my part of rural North Yorks it was a real struggle to sell and friends in the trade said I would be lucky to get £1200 at auction, less commissions!!
Good luck.

So just think how little the less-useful saloons go for!

Legacylad, would have snaped it up at this money!

|
Gard, buy PhilI's then - its even cheaper!

Alastair. Mine would be much cheaper if it were for sale as its a 94 1.4 Metro. This Legacy Estate is being sold by my son.
