Whilst checking over the front tyres I am about to replace, I noticed the following.
The passenger-side front has worn right down on the inside edge and is similar on the outside edge.
On the drivers side it is similar, but no where near as bad.
Is this a tracking issue?
I was hoping to have new tyres fitted tommorow by a company that visit and replace the tyres and then it is booked in for a service with a main dealer on Friday.
Is it OK to get the tyres done and let the dealer sort out the problem or am I better leaving the tyres on for the time being so they can see the damage and then have them rectify it and then get the tyres replaced?
Any advice appreciated!

Sounds like under inflation, what are the pressures?

These are checked regularly and come straight out of the handbook (can't remember off the top of my head).
It was the really heavy wear on the inside of the left front tyre that concerned me. Surly if it was pressure it would be equally as bad on the outside of the same tyre?

Which is it?
If 1/ then it sounds like under inflation, you might do it by the book though is your gauge accurate?
If 2/ then it sounds like an alignment problem that would be cured by having the tracking checked and adjusted.

It is as bald as Kojak on the inside edge but with some remaining tread (just) on the outside edge.

It's likely a combination of the two.

Aha! Well, no actually. S60 Volvo.
I have ordered the tyres as I don't want to tempt a blow-outand will get the tracking looked at on Friday.
Thanks to those that have contributed.

Do you drive over lots of traffic calming bumps - the ones that are just don't go all the way across the road? It's reckoned that they wear the inside edges of tyres.

Does the S60 have the same suspension issues as as the v70 & S80 ?
ie bushes, drop links, etc ?
