i have recently developed a tick from my injectors unsure exactly which one but it does sound awful does anyone know if this a comon problem doesnt effect the car in anyway and checked dtc codes and there are none any ideas?

I very much doubt that the injector is making the noise but if it is you will probably have to change it,then again if it rune ok why bother.

I too would doubt an injector is responsible. More like some part of the valve gear?

I may be wrong though I beleive that the 1.8 and 2.0 Duratec's are not fitted with hydraulic tappets (where as the 2.5 and 3.0 V6's and the diesels are) so it could just need a valve clearance check.

Your right cheddar. Valve clearances when cold should be 0.22-0.28mm inlet and 0.27-0.33mm exhaust. Tappets can be chaned for bigger ones but you'll have to take the camshaft off to do it, which I imagine will be a bit of a pain.
