I purchased a ford ka 18 months ago and i only have one key and it is not the master key. I am starting to get worried and have the money to sort it out but the dealers fee seems expensive and I assume that there is somebody who does it cheaper. I live in leeds but travel alot and any recomendations in yorkshire would be great
Thanks

How much, and for what has the dealer quoted you for?

The following info *may* be of some help:-

get yourself to premier motorauctions and ask the mobile key cutting man there, its normally £100 ish at ford.

Woah - hold on. '98 was the changeover for Ford keys wasn't it? Andy, does your key have a red or blue chip in it?

That link runs at odds with my keys. I've an '03 (ohv) KA, supplied with two keys, both with red inserts...
|
ive never seen a blue key ka,seen loads of "foci" though.

Same with my Mum's 2001 Fiesta. What exactly have Ford told you they need to do?
