Not exactly a new invention, of course. I had one of these fitted to my Dad's Mini in about 1964. I was five at the time, and would regularly take it out onto the virtual roads, which I knew well, for a spin. Didn't need a flip down screen, as my imagination was more than enough.

Top Gear on Tuesday showed an Austin Healey and a souped up Peugeot battling each other on a time trial course.
The Pug had a built-in games console - and a lot more besides...:-)

That is scary. What if you cannot remember whether you're driving or 'driving'?

If its got a large enough streetmap then I can see this being a useful way for taxi drivers to learn the knowledge.
