Fiat Punto Idle problems! - volvos60T5SE
Hi there, A family friend has a 2005 reg' 1.2 8v Fiat punto. After being in it today, i noticed the idling was very erratic. The engine speed drops from 800 rpm to 500rpm and then returns to 200 again, this cycle happens every second or so, i suspect a problem with the Idle control system, am i correct in thinking this?? has anybody else got any othe suggestions? Thanks,

Try disconnecting the battery for 10mins, but first be sure you have the radio code.

hello, thanks for the suggestions so far, the car is going in to fiat, however, i would quite like to kno, because my friend lives about 50 miles from a fiat garage, but about 5 mins from me, thanks, will try disconnecting the battery thanks, would this reset the ECU?????
