I thought I'd start another one of these (www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=28047 ).
I really should start asking for things I want from now on! This year though I got a 12v inspection lamp that plugs into my as yet non-existant cigarette lighter. I've been meaning to install a socket for some time now and I guess this is it!

My cat got me a bird. However, my parents exceeded even that fabulous gift and got a skid training session. :)

A 1/6th scale 3 series radio controlled car! Great for chasing the dog round the house, although the skirting boards and walls seem to be coming off worse at the moment!!

Can't actually say what it's called, but it's a Top Trumps game, by the maker of Sniffpetrol, who did a book about ... less than good ... cars.
Called **** trumps.
Most aggrieved actually, it has the Volvo 440GLE in it, which I used to own, but the picture is of an oil tanker! Must have got there jpegs mixed up in production!

Jealous ! Haven't seen my ladybird book of cars since about 1969. I can still remember it started Heinkel bubble car and goes on to the Dodge Dart, Jensen and Bristol.. then I lost interest, having found the nudes on the back page of "Your Body" ;-)
|
I've still got a copy of Tootles The Taxi - bet most kids couldn't even identify trams & watercarts & other vehicles in there, these days!!

Say hello to sleepless nights and empty bank accounts...

>>Eventually they will sleep through the night.
If I recall.. It is a loud noise at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.
>>The problems continue for a minimum of 40years more.
I believe that.
Congratulations!
In the meanwhile my suggestion is to write down your feelings NOW.

Even better - car wasn't working properly. Took it back to the shop where SWMBO bought it but had lost receipt. They refunded me £44.99 as list price.
Turns out SWMBO only paid £22.49 for it...

The iPod Shuffle my kids bought me - today on a long drive (bloomin' M6 at a standstill as usual)from Midlands to Wirral for Xmas visit to inlaws (outlaws?) I was able to plug it into car tape player and listen to all my favourites from Howlin' Wolf, via Everly Bros, Joe Walsh, BB King, Free, Eagles, Rolling Stones to Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Eric Clapton (anything with wailing guitars!!and pre 1980 - ok 1974!)while kids had their own iPod things plugged in at the back. Mrs W not too happy since she does not have iPod thingy - and had to listen to my choice! Might have to buy her one!! Anyone know of any invisible earplugs I could use while at the outlaws??
Just off to rip a few CDs and burn a few more tracks (don't know what rip and burn mean but my son keeps saying I should rip (or is it burn??) something.
Isn't this modern technology great? - and to think my 8-track in 1972 was the cutting edge of technology!
