We all know Santa gets pulled along by his reindeer, so theoretically, they are his engine (thats the motor link).
Just noticed my son has left santa a note asking him for the names of all the reindeer that helped deliver his presents tonight. Whilst I search the web, does anyone know them all offhand?

Just watched a Jonathan Ross special from before Xmas which included a uniformed guy from NASA who gave a wonderful account of how they have been tracking Santa's progress around the world on Xmas Eve for the last 20 years or so.
Apparently he is escorted into the US by a pair of Phantoms but he gives them a cheery wave then leaves them behind. They've only lost track of him once when Santa was skimming the sea and Rudolph's red nose dipped into the water, temporarily turning it blue and thus out of sight of the trackers.
The guy was very serious and convincing and it was a great bit of Christmas TV...

Despite the male names, the fact that they are always depicted with antlers indicates that they are all female. Male reindeers shed their antlers annually well before Christmas.
