Would a car from here be 'owned' by an individual or a company? Or both?

The car is owned by the Contract Hire Co - the user may have been private individual or company user.

Whether it is a "good buy" or a "good-bye" depends on the driver(s)

I had many contract hire cars over the years and I drove them as I would my own car. Many of my former colleagues abused the car as it was not theirs and somebody else picked up the bills.

Thanks for clearing that up. Here's hoping my 306 was one of yours. ;-)

Did you buy at auction??

If yes, check the invoice, as to the VAT breakdown - if the vehicle is described as 'VAT QUALIFYING', every chance it's been on daily rental, or a company has leased it.

Also, just check with the dealer who serviced it - did it belong to Susie, down the road & only her & her mummy only ever used it, for church.

Or was it the heavy footed boy racer, forever asking for new clutches??

Cool thanks Vansboy. Yes, the invioce from Adams (Now Perrys) Peugeot has the phrase 'VAT Qualifying' on it. I bought the car second hand - this is the invoice from when it was purchased by the last owner. Oh well.

I doubt they'd be too keen to hand out details if they still have them, and I pestered them enough today with regards to locking wheel nuts. (Guess what I didn't get with the car.)

Every car based magazine I've read has mentioned at some point "Don't worry too much about missing service history. Just contact the manufacturer who will have it on database." I'd really like to know if they've ever actually done this, as it's definately not that easy - e-mails and snail mails to Peugeot Customer Care went unanswered. Luckily it's only the first serice I wanted to know about, and I'm assured Peugeot lease cars are well looked after while with Peugeot.
