Fairly self explanatory I think...
I'm only interested in cabin space, not luggage space.
Thanks

Pardon me for being so rude - if you want cabin space I suggest a stretch limo or similar. In my opinion the Modus is nowhere near the quality of the Jazz in just about every respect. As for interior volume I guess it's the Jazz too. Buy a Jazz - you know it makes sense.

It ain't for me, I wouldn't want either of them. It's for a friend of the Mrs, they want a small car that is big on the inside because they live in one of those new build houses where the garage is tiny. If I park my Megane in their garage, then you can't open the doors.

MY BIL had this choice and opted for the Modus as , although Jazz was better build quality etc, he just couldn't get a decent price on one.

No diesel option on the Jazz either, although I don't think this will be a problem for these friends.

It does 50MPG anyway, so, as a diesel would probably be a lot more expensive, doesn't really matter unless you're going to do mega mileage.

Interesting - we had a Clio before the Jazz, and lost a huge amount of money on it. I'm hoping the Jazz will have better residuals, but we'll see if it makes much difference at the end of the day.

Then remind them not to get a three door anything, only a 4/5 door will do.

When I went with my friend to a car supermarket to buy his Seat, they had a brand new Modus inside with everything open. It was clearly a top spec model but the interior looked like a house from teh 70's.
Despite that, it was surprisingly big inside, looked a lot better than the Jazz and seemed to have a fair amount of kit on it too.
I can't for the life of me remember what it was up for though. I was too busy seriously wondering where I could get 10 grand from for the 54 plate 3.2 Vectra next to it.

Following measurements from Whatcar.com
Jazz figure first, followed by Modus
front headroom: 935 - 940
front legroom: 1060 - 1050
back headroom: 880 - 890
back legroom: 730 - 733
Not a lot in in. Jazz marginally better front, Modus in back.
So probably best to choose on the basis of other factors

Really useful info, thank you.
Will pass it on.

Going by those sizes, go for jazz.
cos i know a few MM's isn't going to make a difference as my girlfriend has a jazz and its big!
she has her seat all the way back for some unknown reason (she's just under 6ft and has loads of room (i bring the seat forward), i can sit behind (6ft), and my knees don't touch her seat when its all the way back
i reckon it could fit 2 6.4ft people front and back.
therefore all you need know is reliability = Jazz.
end of.
