It's fine, probably won't make much difference though...

i will only put it in to clean any gunk out of the fuel system

I used to run a Vectra V6 on Optimax and the economy improved to the extent that it was cheaper to run, BP claim the same now with Ultimate.

I tried it on my Fiesta (exactly the same as the OP's).
No noticable performance increase.
No noticable increase in economy.
God knows how clean the engine was.
In any event, yes - you're perfectly fine to put it in Stanger.

You are probably as well using a good brand with a decent additive package.
If you haven't used fuels with additives before you will clean up your fuel lines and tank and deposit gunk in your fuel filter.
If your lucky enough to have a car you can manually advance adjust the timing it is possible to extract a few more bhp.
the MK1 MX5 is a good example (14deg cf 10deg)

I ran my 1.6 Fiesta on Optimax for 3 tankfuls - all mileages and fuel usage recorded.. always. No difference at all in any shape or form. Now use Shell unleaded/Texaco unleaded/Tesco ditto (when discounted only:-).
No difference in performance or mpg.
But Q8 was 2-3 mpg worse and more expensive....
