VW polo panel respray - raymondh
I have just scraped the offside of my reg 51 polo (metallic grey) against the rear corner of a parked vehicle. Other driver said not to worry about his car, damage minimal, but I now have long scrape stretching across passenger door and back panel. Am planning to sell my car next month and need this sorting out asap. Can anybody help me out by giving me a rough idea what you reckon the damage will be - reluctant to take to local VW garage as have history of being massively overcharged imo by them! Panels seem to be intact, if anything very slightly dented, but only slight... Cheers

raymondh, I don't think you can expect estimates from people who cannot see you car and it's damage. Could just be a minor paint scrape, but if the panels are dented as you say then you will need to decide if you want it perfect, or just painted over the marks. The repair will depend on exactly what work needs doing. Just take it along to your local body shops and ask for a proper estimate, thats what these guys exist for. Often they will write to you with a written estimate if parts or panel work is involved, but if it is just a paint job they may tell you straight away.

take it to a body shop, tell them you are selling the car next month, and its a cash job. It will be cheap and looking good. - dont keep the car tho!
