Re-commissioning aircon - Peugeot 405 - local yokel
Just getting a 405 with aircon fitted that (I guess) needs, at best, a re-gas. Appears to have been like this for some time. Will all the seals etc. need re-doing, and if so, I guess it's not really viable?

A 405 is going to be at least 10 yrs old,so I think you would be looking to replace the a/c condenser rad & filter drier (corroded)at a minimum. Also cooling system needs to be up to scratch with a good radiator & both cooling fans working correctly. You could possibly end up with repairs more than the value of the car.

A good aircon specialist will dry the system, fill it and leak check it. After the leak checks you will know how good or bad the news is. You may be lucky and with new gas and oil and a few O ring seals (about £70 to £100) and you may be back in good working order...
