Clio steering rack needs replacing.

Clio steering rack needs replacing. - arrowst
Over the last couple of weeks the steering on my renault clio has become very lose, and I have understeer. It was mentioned at my last MOT that the steering rack will need replacing soon, so I'm assuming that's the cause.

Can anyone tell me how much this will cost to replace at a local garage?

basic 1.2 model, "t" reg (1999). No PAS

ring a few independants for a ball park figure,ive never done a 99 clio but they dont look a 30 minute job.
