Probably ones that arrived broken and needed mending...

Why are there CityRovers in the pictures? They certainly weren't made at Longbridge!
Far as I know they were imported "almost complete" but were finished off in Longbridge - ie, they had different bumpers, bodykit etc fitted to them, and Rover badges of course.

I wondered why the indicators on those Cityrovers were orange.

I thought it was a pool of oil behind one in the photo, but I'm prepared to admit it might just be a dark puddle of water...

INTERESTING!!!
The CityRover in the picture has the reg number Y466 WRH (you can see by zooming into the pic and altering the white balance and gamme using photo editor).
According to DVLA records, that number was registered on 24th May 2001, it changed owner on 31 May 2002, it has 1 previous owner and is a "Heavy Oil" fuel type (i.e. diesel).
I didn't think the City Rover came out until quite a bit later than this? Also I didn't think they did a Diesel?
Also the DVLA record doesn't have anything in the Manufacturer or Model of the car, so it was registered without these values. Very strange!
I suspect therefore, that this was some sort of development model bought into the UK for Rover to play with?
That would also explain why it's got orange indicator lenses (when the City Rover had white lenses)...

That is interesting. So what they've got there is actually a Tata Indica, rather than a Cityrover - ie it was brought over as a Tata Indica and registered for them to have a play with? Does that mean yer 28dayslater fellas found some development area or other? That'd explain what appears to be a 75 in the background with a side-wall but no roof. I can't believe they're built like that.
