While, for instance, AC is a sensible alternative to Air Conditioning or IIRC instead of 'if I recall correctly' cos both are easier to write 'wife' is easier to write than SWMBO so where oh where is the logic.

If you're married then wife is shorter, but realise that there are multiple other possibilities and SWMBO is universal.

I thought this was a thread relating to my SWMBO!!
Over the years you read threads on here about how to improve your mpg, how to prolong your car's life etc.
Then yesterday I had the misfortune to be in the car as SWMBO drove me over to the garage to pick up the Scenic.
Oh My God!!
Her gearwork was awful, abysmal! Taking off in 2nd gear, trying to get up to 4th and not even doing 20mph! Doing 50 and not thinking of switching up to 5th gear!
You can forget your BP Ultimate, Millers etc, with SWMBO driving like that, whats the point?? (She has been driving for 17 years!)
I think I will stick to my usual rule of only allowing her to drive me if I am totally and utterly inebriated! Or should that read, if I know she is driving, I must get totally and utterly inebriated first!
