Cherished number plate sale. - Imagos
I'm in the fortuate position of having a cherished dateless number plate up for sale on a retention certificate.

However a number plate company that shall remain nameless has quoted me a 25% commission charge of total selling price for said plate.

Now this sounds very excessive to me considering were talking several hundred pounds here.

Is there an easier way of selling a plate like this or have they got me over a barrel?

Is it sort of like a house sale, you really could do it without an Estate Agent but very messy?

Advice most welcome.. thanx

25% commision on something like this sounds cheap to me, providing that they will commit to selling it in a reasonable time period.

Lets face it, if you advertise it somewhere, you'll end up accepting at least 10% less than you advertise it for, and when the first call ends up three months in and offers you 20% less than you afvertised it for then you;d take that. With ads costing you a fair bit on top, which way would you rather have it?
