Does your hand cleaner jelly go runny after a time? If so, pour it into an empty Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle ~ the squeezy sort with the stay clean cap that you store upside down. Don't forget to re-label the bottle of course.

Specially as you can get green tomato sauce....there could be disaster

No a disaster is drinking a whole bottle of Peptobysmal to cure a hangover, then having to call an ambulance.

I'm still using a three litre bottle of Comma Manista that I've had for a goood ten years now, and yes, it too went runny about three years ago. It has a pump action dispenser though so no problem using it in an orderly manner and with granules in it it's still as effective as it ever was.
What I found mildly interesting about this thread though was that the thinning problem appears not to be unique to Manista and more something to do with the generic properties of gel hand cleaner. Any chemists amongst us who can explain what happens, please?

I did not realise this was common,I thought my huge tub had gone because I had stored it in the shed and the cold had affected it.Mine is really runny with a crust of granules on top.

FWIW, you can make your own 'swarfega' by mixing white spirit (turpentine substitute, not the stuff they use in hospitals) with washing-up liquid...

Been there, done that JBJ but boy did it leave my skin dry afterwards!
BTW - Still got the GS? Either way I hope you've had a good summer's riding.

I used to use Swafega and the like, but now use disposable rubber gloves- much kinder to the skin and offering slight protection from scuffs.

"Still got the GS?"
That gave me pause, as I used to have a Citroen GS (good car), but then I saw it was you and realised you meant the bike! It's fine thanks, and I've been riding it all year. Much improved by a new pair of Avons and, lately, the addition of a little acetone to the fuel (see separate thread).
No good reason to upgrade, really, although I'd quite like a Guzzi Breva 750. I'm sure you're still happy with your Hornet!

Glad to hear the GS is fine, JBJ, and that you've got plenty of riding in. Yes, I'm still happy with my Hornet, thanks, and on the basis that the rear tyre lasted one summer (4,000 miles) it was a good one! I was on the IOW during the summer, but unfortunately at the helm of a VW Shuttle with six passengers, not on the bike!
