need to know the reset procedure for the alarm on my audi a4 tdi 1995/6....also does anyone know how to reset the imob?
Problem.....the doors lock on the fob but do not unlock correctly, the lights flash but no doors...also, does anyone know what the alarm button is for on the drivers side middle post?

The button on the drivers side b pillar disables the internal sensors, so that if the window is left open or you leave a dog in the car the alarm doesnt go off every time it moves. Press the button and the next time the alarm is set the sensor is disabled. Its a one off switch so you need to press it every time you want the sensors disabled.
On the doors not unlocking are you sure that its the alarm - sounds like the central locking. But I think that will show up on diagnostics. Go round and use the key to lock and unlock each door (including the boot) several times. Its a commonish problem for the locks (esp the boot/hatch) to get stiff.

If you use wd-40, make sure you properly grease the locks afterwards.

thanks for the note....how ever, I have gone around all of the locks and they are fine, but the doors still do not unlock on the fob....they lock fine, and when I press the unlock the lights flash, but not door unlock?

In that case I think you need to go round and check the actuators.
Do you have access to vag-com or diagnostics - if so you can check to see if any error codes are being set by the cl system.

I'm off the shanghai next week for work, so am planning to get a VAG-com there..it seems a lot on Ebay come from there...but will check the actuators thanks..
