help rover 600 windows - rover1
need help here i have owned my rover 600 diesel for 1 and half years and the passenger side electric window has slipped out of its runners twice.

the drivers side has snapped the bracket once and slipped out 3 times before and twice in the last week including tonight.
i have been told its a common problem but not the solution. i am getting a bit sick of taking the door panel off and repositioning the window.Any help is appreciated. thanks

Not really a lot of help but the only solution is to not expect Rover windows to work well once they are worn.
It is probably too far gone and the only real way to fix it is to renew the mechanism, getting one from a scrappy will almost certainly be as bad.

the mechanism seems fine its more that the rubber track it slides in and out appears to be stiff therefore causing the windows to jam and get pulled out of its track. Is there any kind of lubricant or grease that i can use to make the track more flexable. The problem is worse during winter as the track is even less flexable. thanks for your reply

The window mechanism is a weak point on these cars.Renewing the rubber guide track around the inside of the door frame usually helps. However they are not cheap,I think around £40.You could try a Honda dealer ;the 600 is the same as an Accord.

Just use a white grease, dont go mad though nd fill the runner just use enough to free it up.

thanks not heard of white grease before, put used wd40 seemed to do trick at first but then window slipped out of track again while in busy carpark in town, so had to waste hour + returning home and fixing window and then bak to town.
Is the white grease available easily ? Thanks for your reply

WD40 is too thin and will just run away over a very short time, it's strictly speaking a penetrating fluid and not a lubricant.

Use any thick grease, white grease is the spray stuff.
