Volvo V70 D5 - 9000
I'm in the market for one of these however they seem to be making quite strong money on the forecourts at the moment. I'd like to check out the auctions to see what money they are making in the trade- does anyone know of any auctions where volvo finance offload their end of lease cars or any other auctions where volvo estates crop up regularly? I'm in the west midlands. Thanks 9000

Have you checked the brokers ? There are significant discounts on volvo's either uk sourced or imports.

You dont say how much you want to spend though.

Please be careful, there are those on this forum who love the V70 but mine was a total woofer backed up by poor dealer support. In the end I simply gave up.

Hi There, I have a 2004 XC70 D5 Geartronic that I am considering changing shortly, Is this the sort of age you were looking for ?
Currently the Volvo dealer has offered 22.5k.

Feel free to call of email,

Remarkable! 9000 thinking of buying a V70 and xc70 pops up; a new member of the back room today and his post is not a question or comment- no, it's do you want to buy my car?

Hmmmm

When you put your car in Autotrader and gets lots of calls from compnaies saying 'we have lots of buyers for you car - give us £90 and we'll sell it for you today', do you believe them?

I would take the 22.5, Harrats (main dealer) have a couple of 2005 xc70 d5 geartronics with a sticker price of 24995 and mileages under 10k.

A new xc70 d5 geartronic can be had for 26K.

If XC70 is genuine, £22.5k is close to retail - £23,500 before haggling is quite easy to find from a franchise with sensible mileage. If the Volvo dealer is offering that then unless it's against a new one with no discount then snap his arm off.

If he isn't and is trading himself, well he's kind of cheap I suppose but mainly because he can't be bothered paying for proper advertising.

Thanks for your replies- looking to spend up to £10-11k for an 2002 SE spec. I accept that for this money it will be up on the miles but would expect it to be under 100k (just).

Or maybe I should stump up a few more ££ and get a newer one with lower miles.

Thanks- there's a few on auctionview not too far from me- I'll take a look when I can. I think all the police ones will be petrols.

If you could make it up to Stockport, www.usedcarsales.net have a dark bluey-green (not the best colour) D5S (base spec) on an 02 plate with 100.5k miles in stock - for £7,995. It may or may not be any good but it's cheap enough to consider, surely?
Volvo V70 D5 - DavidHM
Sorry, I misread, it's 105k miles.
Volvo V70 D5 - 9000
Thanks David- it's certainly very reasonably priced but I really don't like that colour- also there'll be extras missing from that spec which I'd really like to have like leather/ twin climate/ 4cd.

So where in the UK are you? Couple of places to try near SW London; IIRC Carpenters Volvo garage near Kingston and near me, PGI at Farnham who IIRC claim to be Europe's largest independent Volvo estate garage would look one out for you at auction if they do not have one in stock. I have no connection with either of these 2 places.
