New car paintwork damage

New car paintwork damage - J1mbo
Is it acceptable for small minor blemishes on a new car to require a repair? Like small scatch or "nic" in trim or small scuff or mark? Car is new, but un purchased yet.

Maybe its fairly common to request these when you look over the car. Advice?

It is only acceptable for any repairs or remedial works to be a: invisible, b: to manufacturers standard.

If it fails a: you reject the car.

Or accept a discount of course ;)

If you try and sell the car back to the dealer, they will point to the damage and explain why that means they have to offer you less.

So .... sauce for gander, I think.
