Headlightwashers pump works fine-sprays ok.
Screen and rears-no water although pump sounds ok. Blew back to tank from screen pipe and bubbles come out of tank(which is full). Is front and rear from same pump? if so, how does system work? Any clues anyone as it seems that its bumper off to get to tank and pumps.?

Most unlikely that one pump delivers water to front and rear screens - a valve system would be complicated, and those wee pumps are dirt cheap. It's either got two or more pumps (if the lamp washer feeds from the same tank), or it's got more than one tank, each with a pump.

I *think* it's one pump and the battery polarity to the motor pump gets reversed to make the pump squirt either the front or rear screen. i.e. spin the pump one way and it'll squirt the front screen, but spin it the other way and it'll squirt the rear screen.
I take it you've checked the fuse?

Yes, the motor/pump goes ok both for front and rear, but no water.Could the suction be blocked? would there be a suction filter maybe? If so I guess its still pump out job. I've had a hose pipe in tank also with no joy.

When you blew in the pipe and got bubbles, did you try the pump on the now free/open end which was in your mouth? It could be a bit of crud blocking the pump...but then you did say you got bubbles..maybe not enough bubbles.

Thanks for advice all. Problem now sorted. Omega has 2 pumps, one for front and rear screens, which is a reversable motor/pump unit. Other is for headlight washers.
Problem proved to be a very small suction strainer totally blocked up with stuff like you get when you take your sink drain apart. yuk! Haynes says remove front bumper and wheel arch to gain access. I was able to access it just by removing front grill and moving air intake slightly. Pump just pulls out vertically followed by strainer/grommet seal. cleaned strainer and refit ok. easy in the end.

Thanks for returning with the answer.

I had the same problem with my Vectra GSi Estate. The gunge was from screen washer fluid and is apparently quite a common problem especially if stronger dosages (I use 70:30 water:fluid in the winter) are used.
Come to think of it I indeed also had the same problem with my MG Metro and Sierra some years back.

That is exactly how it works on a Sierra,do not know if Omega uses same.
