peugeot 306 rear light problem - bluenose


can any one shed any light on a problem with my 1996 peugeot 306???. when my rear lights are on and i indicate to the right my rear light intermitently flashes with the indicator. people have advised me to clean my earth conectors but it is still a problem. can anyone help

After checking your earth connections, clean the rear light cluster connectors with emery cloth (grit paper), looking for any green or dirty connections.

Agree with solara; almost certainly the cause.

I have had this problem with two cars in the past, and on one (A Ford Sierra, where this is a known issue) I had to scrape the inside of the connector with a sharp point as well as clean the tabs on the light cluster circuit board because the oxidisation was so bad.

I had this problem on my 306 when it was new - I found a short in the rear light cluster on the right side- Easily opened and spotted. This was a left hand drive unit, but I think the right side rear cluster is the main distribution on all models. G'luck.
