mk3 mondeo 1.8 duratec - John Jennings
Hi my dad's 51 plate mondeo sems to lack power. It has recently been fixed for a faulty fuel pump (which causes the car to cut out at motorway crusing speed!!).

It has done 116 000 miles and has been serviced regually though it still feals flat when you accelerate hard ( like the hand brake is on??)

don't know whether it is the engine or another part of the car???

any help greatfully recieved.

It could be one of many things. The first thing I would check is the brakes to see if any of them are binding, the second thing would be the air filter to see if thats blocked and the third would be the exhaust- the cat may have disintegrated and be stifling the exhaust gases escaping.
