Let the Mrs borrow the car last Sunday, and she mentioned in passing last night that the heater temp selector had jammed!!
She's right it has jammed,although you can move the selector it feels like you are only twisting the mechanism and will not select to fully hot/cold.Question is where is the hot/cold valve/flap located and which is the easiest way to get to it.Definately jammed as i only get 1 temp out of the ducts.
Not all her fault it has been a bit stiff if it has not been used for a while, but i,m not telling her that!

if this is a 93>2000 model without a/c then the hot /cold selector is cable driven from the rotary control to the temp flap (drivers footwell) Chances are the cable has broken or distorted ,can be bought on its own from Ford.requires removal of centre panel around radio to replace it.

Job fixed,
Having stripped it to get access to the rear of the selector the inner cable was found bent, all moving the selector was achieving was flexing the bend. Pair of pliers to straighten the cable, followed by a cup of oil down the coduit has it working as good as new.
Glad it's sorted as replacing the conduit and cable looks to bit a fair job.
