I keep seeing 'twinport' on the back of recent vauxhalls. Just wondered what it actually meant.
TIA,
Alex.

VW beetles of the late 60s/early 70s had twinport engines. Good to see GM keeping up with the latest in engineering trends.
Is this Vauxhall's equivalent of VVT-i/VTEC etc etc?
You also get twinport heads for mini's - old technology
SO is the supercharger, so is the turbocharger, so is fuel injection. All old technology.

SO is the supercharger, so is the turbocharger, so is fuel injection.
But vauxhall seem to be implying that twinport is a posh new technical development which we all know it isn't!
Yes, WE may know as we are so clever, but Joe Public time and again falls for these marketing gimmicks.
So Twinport is a 16v engine, with variable valve timing and an EGR?
