I have bought a sheet of Kaylan (a polyurethane material) to make a set of mud flaps similar to those found on WRC cars. I have a template and need to cut the sheet to make four flaps.
This stuff is not cheap - can anyone suggest the best method of cutting it? I dont think its rigid enough to cut with a jigsaw and is too thick to cut tidily with a stanley knife....
Is anyone familar with working with / cutting Kaylan?
Thanks in advance,
Leon

not familiar with the material, but how about either tin snips or brace it between a couple of sheets of thin plyboard and then use the jigsaw ?

Perhaps try a hot knife, heated with a blow torch. Watch out for the fumes though

There is a hot wire tool used to cut polystyrene.
