It was a 1990 MX5 last night. Bought for £1600. Replaced part of 'A' pillar, replaced roof vinyl, seats and carpets (damaged due to leaking roof), wheels (15 inch replaced 14 inch), added chrome bits on the interior, sill protectors and a front grill, added torsion beams to underside to improve stability. No mechanical work done whatsoever. I think it sold for nearly 3 grand which for a 15 year old car seemed steep to me.

But if you look at it as £3000 for some reliable, waterproof summer fun, then it's not such a bad deal.

I watched last nights programm ,it was a little bit to scripted to be for real for one would you by a car without a new mot the end buyer did and where was the road excise disc.It was obvisouly all done with actors and a car bought at auction or some garages trade in.Nethertheless it was still quite entertaining

He also fitted an induction kit. Unfortunately at no time was it mentioned that adding bits and changing wheels etc could affect the insurance situation.

Replaced seats and carpets (damaged due to leaking roof),
Apart from the lack of programme continuity - Ed China first said the replacement seats and carpets came to £155 (seats @ £120, front carpet @ £20 and rear carpet @ £15), only for Mike Brewer to later say that they came to £135, surely it would have been better just to have hired a vax machine and given them a cleaning and saved the money in the first place?

and tuning spelt "tunning" whatever that is...

Especially as they never include the cost of any labour (even notional) in their costs and therefore always inflate the net profit. Still fun to watch!
