Does anyone know the law with respect to children being belted up in a car? I am particularly concerned to know whose responsibility it is to ensure the child is properly belted.
I have heard that it is the driver's responsibility - NOT the parent's. In other words if an offence has been committed, the driver is at fault.

Thanks for that Stuartli, especially when I scrolled down and saw the table setting out who is responsible in the event of any transgression.

Spot on. If you're driving, you're responsible. I don't move in my car unless everyone is wearing a seatbelt.
