Uneven Yaris - Eric355
When my 6 week old Yaris is parked on level ground, the off side front wheel arch is 10mm lower than the near side. I've checked the tyre pressures, what could be wrong?

1/ Are the front wheels in the straight-ahead position, if not straighten them and remeasure.

2/ Presumably there was only you in the car when you parked it, suggest get yourself a passenger of reasonably similar weight to you, drive around the block, at least few hundred yards, park up, both get out and remeasure. Weight in the car induces postive camber on the front wheels, slightly more so on the off side than the near side when the driver only is in the car. Although the supension will rise slightly when you get out of the car this positive camber is still a factor.

I have noticed for a few days that the car looked uneven, I usually carry passengers. Is it possible that one spring could be shorter than the other?

If you drive it mainly without passengers then one side could be 'set' a little lower than the other - I've seen this on lots of cars. Spring could have snapped near the end.

6 weeks? 6 weeks from brand new?

Bounce each corner up and down once so it settles. Park it somewhere else and try again,

One possibility is a missing rubber isolator between the coil spring and its seat.

If the car is really so new, the springs should not have any appreciable set in them yet - unless the OP is of awesome* girth!

* reminds me of a large couple who once stopped for petrol in their Reliant Robin; shutting the doors was a strictly synchronised operation!

Sorry for loosing the thread, computer problems! Anyway I checked my neighbours Yaris (54 reg) 5mm lower on off side, friends Yaris (04 reg) 15mm lower on off side, Guy at work his Yaris (02reg) 10mm lower on off side. Is there any more out there with the same problem?.
