I've used www.secureairport-parking.co.uk/ most recently. Very courteous and they provide a valeting service. They fully de-iced my car when I returned from holiday in December last year. If you want to park the car yourself you need to use the main airport on site car parks or a company such as Carminder.

Watch out for that one, there was a report in the paper not so long ago about someone coming back to his car, at a hotel near Manchester airport, only to find it being "bagged" i.e. being protected from the weather so that rain didn't enter through the broken windows. Guess how it got broken. There were, so the report said, about 5 other "bagged" cars in the car park.
I came back from Hawaii (honeymoon) many years ago and used the bus !

yes agree I stayed once at Express Holiday Inn,which is now called Bewleys--and saw some very strange charachers in the car park!
Hence i would not leave my car at a hotel for such a period.

Used the long stay here for two US Business trips. Convenient, close, and regular pick ups from Terminal 1 (if a tad more expensive). In fact the whole Manchester Airport experience is a very positive one compared to some (closer)ones I could mention.
Personally I don't care about the key issue. One less thing to leave in a hotel a continent away ! The parking bays were adequate as well.

Manchester Airport - and I've used most of the UK ones - is probably the best in the country all round and one of its greatest assets is its remarkably compact layout.
You never have to walk far to reach any of the terminals, the train station is very handy and the car parking for most of the year (holiday periods apart) is generally quick and easy and regularly served by the free airport buses.
Even so, where I live (some 44 miles from the airport and mostly motorway miles) many people use one of the two local taxi services specialising in taking passengers to and from the airport; it costs around £39 return on average for the two trips; a variety of vehicles are available, from Mondeos etc to MPVs.
The only snag, which is for insurance purposes imposed on the taxi firms, is that you have to leave about an hour to an hour-and-a-half earlier on the outward trip than you would in your own car in case of any holdups (Thirlwell Valley, for instance, has been a nightmare for a long time delays wise).

I left mine at Shentons at Handforth (10-15 mins away) this month. It was recommneded by a friend who always leaves his beloved car there and has alweays been very impressed.
When I got there the place is as rough as bear's bum but my car was looked after, they bussed me in and out promptly and I was very impressed. £30 for ten days if I recall. I would recommend it.
They have a website.
