HI
Just a query why do all the French auto boxes have a harsh change when slowing down. Is this a design fault that they all share...The jap and german ones feel just the same speeding up and slowing down?
Thanks

There is no such thing as a French specific auto box the few manufacturers out their supply to all auto makers ,if your box is clunky then it is probably faulty or worn diff, drive shafts etc.

Ahem.. Renault make their own and have done so for many decades. They are not very good IMHO. Peugeot have generally stuck with ZF (e.g. the 4HP14 and 4HP18 FWD 'boxes - they can be a bit 'sharp' when downshifting).
