The way I usually get wiper arms off is to slacken the nut, then lift the arm up at its hinge - so that the arm is approximately normal to the screen. Then, holding the tip of the arm, I gently move the arm back and forth at right angles to the direction of the hinge, thus rocking the joint. The joint usually comes apart very easily. I have never had any problems using this method, even for wiper arms that have been in place for a lot longer than is the case here.

It's no good messing about doing things gently, it's a taper fit. Take the securing nut off, lift the arm just clear of the screen and push it hard and fast in the best direction.
Windscreen fitters and panel beaters don't muck about otherwise there would be an extra charge for removing the wipers.

It isn't for no reason that you do all your work on big heavy commercials then none! :-)
Believe me, the way I remove wiper arms doesn't take long!
