The local dealership is having some difficulty sorting out rattles on the fascia of my Toyota Corolla which I bought new earlier this year. Does anyone know of a make/model which is unlikely to suffer from squeaks and rattles ?

I've driven quote a few new corollas and haven't had a problem with squeeks or rattles.
There is a known fault with them though where the top of the dash deforms and a new dash top is needed - this is pretty evident though as things don't line up properly and even stevie wonder could see the problem

Thanks for the advice.Would still appreciate feedback re cars unlikely to have squeaks and rattles.

Audis - so far anyway, after 17 months and 24,000 miles in my case.

Try another dealer to get the problem fixed, if that doesn't work try talking to Toyota UK.
The two Corolla's my dad's had haven't suffered single issue, not even a single rattle, boringly reliable as some would say.

Thanks for your comments. I disagree that the Corolla is boring. The 2000 turbo diesel does 0-60 in less than 11 seconds with excellent torque, the ride and handling are good and there are disc brakes all round. And I get 50+ to the gallon (the boring bit ?)

Boringly reliable is meant as a compliment lakelad, I used it because one of my friends who does refurbished engines and gearboxes never gets any work for Honda or Toyota's and uses the term.

I was more thinking of the Focus, to be honest, as its a more similar car.

We bought Wifes '98 Clio 1.6 RXE 2.5 years old / 4000 miles (and were worried about the v-low mileage) though have since done another 30k miles over four years, it has only a couple of small niggles and, to get to the point, has been amazingly free of rattles and squeaks.

I have just attended a Lexus "Open Road" event and one of the cars I drove was an SC 430 (list price £ 52,697). Over uneven surfaces there was a loud rattle from the passenger door. Perhaps even the makers of premium brands are not too concerned about rattles if they can't be bothered to sort a rattling car before it is driven by dozens of potential punters .
