Had to go over to Brigwater the other day and passed a garage selling diesel for 99.9p. Ouch!
Needless to say I didn't fill up...
Can anyone beat that?
|
I think the only reason we are not seeing a pound a litre yet is due to garage price boards only having three digits.....
|
The new digital ones can be adjusted to over apound a litre with no problems.

They've got plenty of figures - they just need to stop all this .9 stupidy - what's wrong with charging in full pence anyway!

Is it illogical? It must be Citroen....

0.1 pence per litre over a distance of 12000 miles per year at 40 mpg (8.8 mpl) = £1.36. I'd rather give that amount to a charity then give it to a petrol company/station.

When will you lads learn it is not the the Fuel Company's but the Government, we have some of the cheapest fuel production in the world - it is the state that is greedy - as normaly

Can I get my diesel converted to run an whisky as I reckon it could be cheaper soon. Are they trying to price us off the roads, I think there will be more protests and I dread those fuel shortages...what do others feel on this?
|
Off to France soon.

In France in July I was paying between 1.00 and 1.15 euros a litre. A euro is about 70p I think, I'll leave the sums to you. Never was good at sums at school :-(
|
Depends where you go.
The forecourt at Auchan near to Boulogne is 0.95 Euro per litre, but most prices in France are around 1.05 euro (1.14 on motorway services) and around 1.1 Euro in Italy.
|
Locally (the Highlands) we have ordinary unleaded for £1.01, ordinary diesel for £1.03
|
I'm seriously considering going 50/50 with new veg oil and declaring the duty. I reckon I could effectively drop the price by around 20p for every litre used if I can get the oil at trade. My 405 should run fine on it - Bosche (?) injector pump.

There used to be a big price discrepancy between Supermarket and filling station petrol/diesel . This appeared to have disappeared this year
|
When I was in France last month, I found the cheapest fuel was at cash-and carry type places with automated card-payment-only pumps, I found none of them accepted my VISA cards, ABANDON it would say, so I reckon you need to be in a special scheme with it's own card.
|
I filled up with Unleaded at Safeway last week - I paid 52 pence per litre.
That was at the Gibraltar store.
|
Australians are complaining now that theirs is over $1 a litre. (40p). The price goes up suddenly at weekends then back on Monday !

No, you just need to be in the French chip & pin scheme which, as far as I can tell, is not compatible with our own.
