Has anyone seen what the new Punto looks like?

I think they might be on to a winner. IMHO its a fabulous looking car, looks a bit like a Maserati from the front!

That's incredible. Actually my first thought was "DB9" from the front. How on earth did they manage to make my mind do that???
It's easily the best looking car in the class - if only it was destined to be reliable...

Grand-Punto? Is this intended as a replacement for the Stilo or something? Looks a bit bigger than the current Punto.
From the side it looks like everything else on the road... Polo, Golf, 307, Fiesta etc etc. Front end would probably work a bit better if it was a sleeker car (like a Maserati for example).

It looks great but Fiat really need to do something about the reliability and image in the UK. Perhaps a 5 year warranty ?
The current Punto is really cheap to buy, but when the new one comes out its going to be more expensive, so why would anyone buy it ?

They're going to keep the old one in production, by the sounds of things this is designed to compete sort of in between the Punto sector and the Stilo sector, or maybe as a replacement for the Stilo?
I think it looks great, I would seriously consider one if I thought that it was going to be reliable.

New Punto isn't a replacement for the poor selling Stilo. A replacement for the latter is being engineered by Austrian firm Magna Steyr and the new Stilo is scheduled for a launch date in late 2006/early 2007.
But mystery surrounds the existing Punto. It will continue but, according to Italiaspeed.com the Serbian manufacturer Zastava has just concluded an agreement to manufacture the current Punto under license.
It's not clear whether production (of the existing Punto model) will continue in Italy or whether Zastava will export these Puntos to western Europe as it used to do with the Fiat 128 many years ago,
