Your sister's birthday and she starts driving, perchance?

Just because your other thread on the subject got nuked due to the weekends problems, doesn't mean that it was that easily forgotten ;o)

Sister's and driving... Dangerous subect. I had to sit beside my younger sister as she drove briskly along in a 30 limit and point out that the "2" she was looking at was 2000 revs (about 40 mph) not 20 mph.

You're just scared that she'll learn more quickly than you did.
|
Has she got a nice Old Testament name like yours? Obviously nor Eve, but Naomi? Ruth? Rachel? Abigail? Jezebel? - or one of the daughters of Job - Jemima, Kezia and (unbelievably) Keren-happuch?
Or Focus's little sister, Fiesta?
|
(trying desperately to keep Avant's contribution motoring related)
Jezebel. Ah, yes. Wasn't she killed by a dangerous driver? (If not exactly by his driving . . . .)
|
(trying desperately to keep Avant's contribution motoring related)
No problem......how about Jehu.....he made a name for himself by driving furiously.....see Second Book of Kings, chapter 9 verse 20.

That is amazing Avant. Keren-Happuch will be pleased that she's the talk of a few people on here.
Tom's probably right - I'm just jealous of JH's success.

You have no idea how much I'm resising the urge to make up some more names.

Do you drive like you type, matey?

Good training for a career in IT. Do it wrong first time, then come back at a later date and fix it. Bill for both visits.
:oD

Coming from a man who spends his time being employed as a contractor to correct errors he made as a permie, I think that's pretty rich.
8-)
|
|
Correction Mark, I'm a contractor correcting the mistakes of my former peers who refused to listen to my cries of "Wolf" when I was a permie and now need a blood transfusion and cosmetic surgery to disguise the teeth marks.
|
I even went as far as to draw pictures of wolves and installed a wolf detector. They turned it off and hid the pictures in a box in the warehouse.
Still, there are none so blind etc, etc. Luckily, despite their poor eyesight, they have a reasonably deep pocket and are now willing to pay me to dig all my old work out and represent it as the way things should be done. Only this time they're listening.
Very gratifying.

"Very gratifying."
Do you take tea in your sugar?

Until you get an essay in on time? ;-)

Here's a really scary thought for you. Adam...
Your sister might start posting on here!
|
Ohh. I see how it is. Absolutely typical. You make the odd mistake and you're hounded ;-)
Xileno, it's nice of you to keep up the pretense but thanks to Dave (yeah - thanks Dave!) you don't need too!
And frosty, I'll destroy her computer before she does that.

Yeah, and some of them are really odd.

Judging by the Gov't's performance on IT projects, a 50% correct first time rate would be a significant improvement.
So is it one week until you get a decent car and not one of those Focus things which look like
they were cobbled together by an IT contractor - on a bad day?
