Any one had experience of using this filter system in the TDI's - is the induction noise increased etc.???

All you will get is more noise and a dirty MAF.
Waste of time on a diesel, breathing is never an issue.

Didn't think diesels had a MAF???
Would disagree that breathing is never an issue. Diesels are often just as afflicted by poor flow intake systems as petrol engines. Can't say for this application tho'
You'll certainly get lots more noise. Maybe a few more mousepower too.

How are diesels or any other engines, afflicted by "poor flow intake systems"? I've always wanted to know.
As the previous poster commented, diesel engines are run at an excess of air. More air flow would do nothing for the power output. Thats if (a big if!) a filter and intake system could achieve such more air flow without compromising its primary filtration purpose. I once enquired of K&N about proof of its efficiency claims. There was no hard information from their office, so I assumed that it was just a claim without substance. With the added risk of the filter grease getting onto the MAF.
