The only food I've disliked from there so far has been their baked beans.
But now back to motoring please ;o)

Wild horses couldn?t drag me into Lidl
>>
I'm stunned ! Why is this ?
|
Perhaps because England is too far to come from Poland just to shop at Lidl?

I like the 4 piece 'maintenance kit' for £1.29. Large and small sponges, chamois leather and chamois covered sponge. Very handy for changing cambelts, replacing CV joints, diagnosing ECU problems. It might even be possible to weld with them.

"I'm stunned ! Why is this ?"
I bought a chicken from that filthy one in deleted and spent the following week on the dunny.
It?s car park has about 6 spaces. Maybe fewer.
The receipts never tallied with what I bought
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought another chicken. Spent another week on the dunny.
No naming/shaming - thankyou. DD.

I always keep an eye on Aldi and Lidl offers. I got a sat-nav from there about 18 months ago for a bargain price. It was basically a re-badge HP PDA and a Royaltek receiver - excellent piece of kit.
I've also had top-quality German-made jumpleads and some really good German-made screenwash that cost about 59p a bottle. The same stuff (with a different label) costs about £3 in a factors. I made the mistake of only buying two bottles. Occasionally Lidl have sets of screwdrivers - they are excellent quality - again 'Made in Germany' I think. They do sell some rubbish too - so you have to pick and choose carefully.
BTW, I've found that a lot of the food is good too. Especially cherry jam, Feta cheese, mineral water and yoghurts. The Lidl and Aldi that I use are certainly not filthy, and they have big car parks that never seem to be more than half-full.

Support everything you say.
Food and other production on the Continent is vastly higher and Aldi and Lidl take full advantage and pass savings on.
Some of the wines are excellent too, but it's well worth watching out for the car bargains such as the Sat-Nav units by Medion and others.
Medion isn't a manufacturer, merely a rebadger and distributor of the products it sells, so the Sat-Nav units, computer systems etc are rebadged products from major manufacturers; it's very common practice in the field as no company can produce everything it sells.

Yeah we have some enormous modern space-aged ones in Poland but I won?t be going in them now. There?s probably a serious message there somewhere about how one bad franchise can destroy a whole brand.

That seems like a bit of a sweeping judgement...
Here in France Lidl stores are full of decent food, including fresh fruit and veg, at prices that make the big name French supermarkets look the expensive places they are. Their special offers are often good value too - including the motoring stuff.
Their stores also seem to have the best air conditioning of all - a big plus at the moment.
And in my experience, if you want to make contact with other ex-pat Brits over here, Lidl is a cert...
