Freelander TD4 engine??

Freelander TD4 engine?? - bbroomlea{P}
Hi

Does anyone know who makes the TD4 engine in the new freelanders. Was having a debate at work as someone has just bought one and they were told it was a BMW unit....I thought it was a Rover L series...Are we both wrong??/

Early Freelander diesels had the L-series, but then when the td4 came out they changed to the BMW unit.
