My 97 1.6 Primera has a problem with the ABS.
Sometimes when coming to a stop at low speed the ABS operates.
I had a NS CV boot changed just over a year ago and the mechanic did report something loose which he loctited back on.
I suspect that the fault lies with the ABS rotor.
Is this easy to check? What needs to be removed?
Any help or other suggestions welcome.

Duff ABS rotor - very common. It is integral with the CV joint so you need to replace the lot. They are not too expensive (About £70 IIRC).

Thanks Aprilia.
I am guessing it is the NS. Is there anyway of checking easily?
I have had a look in the Haynes manual. It looks like the whole drive shaft needs removing. I do not feel confident in doing this. I do service my cars and change brake pads etc.
If this is not too complicated I am willing to try.
I do have a very good independant garage locally if not.
Read your post on Primera pollen filter and now have decent ventilation/aircon!

The NS is the one that usually goes. Whether you can DIY is impossible for me to answer. It depends upon your skills and your tools/workshop. I wouldn't think it would be much more than an hour to do - any workshop should be able to do it for you, its nothing unusual.

Finally got the car into a garage to get this done.
It was the O/S CV joint that was the problem. The ABS ring was damaged and had some teeth missing.
My local independant charged around £150 all in.
