Some locksmiths shops that cut car keys can also duplicate some coded keys,i should try a local locksmith although knowing renault any key transponder may require coding to the vehicle at your local dealership but worth a try as im sure your probably aware renault will charge you a mint to replace a missing transponder, good luck and let me know how you get on.

Yes it does cost a mint, £150,

I had a new key cut for my X reg Clio at a local locksmiths in Sheffield for £15 I think it was. The transponder code is programmed there and then by using the key you supply to set the code. Only downside is it doesnt have the remote function.

Could you post up the name and address of the locksmith in Sheffield who cuts new car keys.
Thanks

Sorry I do not have an exact address/phone number, it was by chance I found the place myself when visiting.
If you know the city,
This should give a rough indication of the location:
snipurl.com/flxq {Link shortened, as was screwing up the page width. DD}
Its on West Street (on which the Supertram runs in the centre)
From the West Street stop it is on the south side of the road walking roughly in a westerly direction. Literally 2 minutes from the tramstop.
Sorry can't be more help
