Take the bulb out. Not a 5 minute job, but it won't cost you anything.

It could cost you a lot if the new owner discovers this and proves that it had a bulb when it was serviced by Vauxall and you have deliberately removed the bulb to misrepresent the conditon of the vehicle at point of sale. Add to this that it should come on for a couple of seconds then this is not a godd, safe, or far action to take. Check all connections and seat switch and pre-tensioner connector and try again. Unfortunately you can only get it turned off by someone with a Tech2 fault code reader. The usual cause of the problem is the wires under the front seats that power the seatbelt pretensioners. Even if you manage to fix the fault, the only way to turn the light off is using tech2.
Ring around some independant garages - tech2 fault code readers aren't limited to only Vauxhall garages.

Hi, I had the same problem with my R reg 2.5 SRi vectra. If you get this light turned off, it will keep reappearing. The light you are seeing is not just the airbag light, it is the light for the seatbelt pretensioners. There should be a connector under the drivers seat for the seatbelt pretensioners and for a few other things - there is your problem- best going to an independent car electrical specialist - i got the connectors re-wired and the light turned off on my vectra for £35. whereabouts are you located? hope this has helped
