I had an annoying knock on my V reg diesel. It took a main dealer to find a loose ball-joint on the arm that links the front Macpherson strut to the anti-roll bar (really irksome because whichever front wheel hit a bump caused it to rattle). I won't go back again because according to the workshop foreman " It's not important I don't know why they fit it it's not needed". I wonder how much Ford spent on research and development? The arm's easy to change, but there appears to be two different types. The one I took off was alloy with a Cruciform cross section. I couldn't get the same type but the steel round section I re-fitted looked identical in dimensions (it was cheaper). Perhaps the forum can enlighten us on the difference

I had an annoying knock on my Focus when it was nealy new, I thought it was suspension, but it turned out to be a broken engine mount.
