Fiat dealer fails to order - doctorchris
Just dropped in to my local Fiat dealer (not telling who but in the North East and tbe owner is very religious) to ask about my Panda 4x4 ordered 12 weeks ago and no sign of delivery.
Oh, sorry sir, salesman failed to put order through, only discovered this 2 weeks ago when another sales person took over his post.
A lot of confused and semi-apologetic expressions followed from the staff present but no reasons given as to why they had failed to communicate this state of affairs to me despite my dropping in on two previous occasions to find out what was happening with my order.
Leaves me even more disillusioned than ever with the motor trade. If, as in my profession as a GP, I treated my patients so shabbily, I would be struck off but I seem to have no redress against the motor trade except to take my trade elsewhere, which I will given any opportunity.

Would like to say something but unfortunately would fall foul of forum rules, so I won't.

The only positive thing I can say is that the salesman who made the mess up obviously ain't there anymore. :-)

He is currently on holiday but has been moved to used car sales. Is this a demotion?

No, if anything he stands a chance to make more money on used than he does on new, although sometimes it is looked on as a less desireable role, mainly because you have to deal with some pondlife from time to time that you get less of in the new car sales.

Does this garage have a seperate new and used showroom by the way?

Sorry, didn't mean serperate showroom, I meant does it have a new showroom and a used site with used car sales offices in a seperate building?

Why not cancel your order and go elsewhere. Plenty of Fiat dealers in the NE. My local one is very good, (Im in Middlesbrough) a family run dealership in Stockton.

If I cancel I stand a chance of waiting another 12 weeks, as it is the dealer has persuaded Fiat not to put my order right to the back of the queue.
However it is always the case in customer relations, if you are well treated you tell 1 or 2 people, if you feel badly done by you tell the whole world.
