I need to make a journey from SE London (Woolwich area) to Heathrow, to arrive at about 13.00 weekday.
I have two choices: go via central London, or M25.
M25 is a much longer trip, but London could be congested.
Has anyone done this route, or can give advice on the most stress-free way.

I have done that trip many times.
London could be congested and so could the M25.
At that time of day you could do the journey in about 75 mins thro' London and say 60 minutes on the M25. Terminal 4 might be 10 minutes less going M25 route.
Least stress for me would be M25 as I hate the drive through SE London and it is always busy.

"from SE London (Woolwich area)" if I were you I wouldn't start from there
"to Heathrow" - or go to there.

Train to London Bridge; tube to monument; tube to South Ken; tube to Heathrow. Stress and pollution free. For just stress free, take a cab!

Take care about relying on the tube to Heathrow. Due to terminal 5 works the tube is a bit iffy.

Most stress-free is probably the M25 at that time of day. If you want *really* stress-free, aim to get there about 11:30 and grab some lunch in one of the A4 hotels before going to the terminal.
