Card in the local ASDA has worked for me on a few occasions over the years with sales within 48hrs of display. Glance at the boards occasionly and there always seems to be a reasonable assortment on show. No costs involved at all.

with so much choice in the 'used' market, it looks difficult to sell a vehicle privately these days and a lot of people are driving around/ parking, with "for sale" notices in-car; and there's always HJ's Classified Section.

www.cargiant.co.uk - massive place in White City (London). Pretty cheap, but customer service isn't high on their agenda... selling hundreds of cars a week is. Some decent bargains to be had though.

dont bother with e-bay, scrap fetches big money on there. my mate has sold a few on there very honest with his description of just how bad they are, the worse they are the more they fetch its quite amazing...cheers...keo.

It's only London based and perhaps Manchester or Liverpool. Can't get it here. Autotrader is the best by far for me.
If you're after looking at cars to get an idea which one you'd like, I've found wandering around Carcraft is good, simply because there are a lot of different makes there, and frankly, most of them aren't very well presented. I've found that this means that when you do find a car in good nick elsewhere, you recognise it as such. I wouldn't buy a car from Carcraft as I don't think the prices are anything like competitive.

It seems to me that an obvious idea would be to have a car "car boot sale" so that private sellers could come and park their vehicles in a field one Sunday for punters to wander around. Surely this must happen somewhere? In Northampton the spot for folk to park their bangers is on Wellingborough Road, opposite the filling station- but wouldn't it be good to nose around loads of em at once?
