I fitted BMW fitment Mich pilots to my BMW 540i about 500 miles ago. They are very quiet and very comfortable, seeming to absorb irregularities etc far better than the Pirellis.
Anyway, a couple of days ago it was pretty wet. Always found that the bends on motorway slip roads are a good test of a tyre as they are often oily as well as wet. The pilots stuck like glue - I was pressing it to see how they stuck.

Which Michelin Pilots? I am under the impression that Pilot is to Michelin what Eagle is to Goodyear.

225x55x16 Primacy BMW fitment.
Incidently I used www.etyres.co.uk who came along and fitted them at home. Painless and efficient and a pretty competitive price.

Thanks for the feedback, 225 55 16 is also my size, will have a look.

You are a wealthy man!!! Just checked the site you mentioned, they were quoting £110 for 205/55zr16 Mich Primacy. Going rate is around £85 - £90 for these tyres!!!!! Regarding your Rav4 query I sell a lot of Synchrone tyres without many adverse comments except the price. My daughter has a Rav4 and the Bridgestones on hers are excellent. Also worth considering are Pirelli Scorpion and Goodyear Wrangler. These are far more competitively priced than Mich and I would doubt that Lady Meditek or yourself would notice any difference in performance.

Went right off mixed tyres when I fitted some Yokos to the front of a car and nearly switched ends at the first corner. If my ageing memory serves me, it was a Fiat Abarth! On a much later corner it switched ends (on a newly gravelled country road) after I'd put them on the back. Vague memories of driving backwards at 70, switching ends again, and coming to rest with the front end impacted in an open metal gate.
Since then, I've always fitted the same tyres all round.

I would rather not mix but but the pilots on the back have a good 6 months + in them. Cannot afford the £400+ for a full set.

I just acquired a 2003 Rav-4 5 door for my wife. It has Toyo tyres that look just over half worn.
As a life long Michman I prefer to fit those in time. Does anyone know much about the 'Synchrone'? Does anyone have an opinion on the best tyre for this car?
Thanks

I've just changed the Pilots on my C5 for Continental 'Touring Contacts'. £305 for 4 of them fully fitted and balanced. They are 'h' rated but that doesn't seem to be an issue for me. I find them smoother and quieter than the Michelins and at that price I'm not too bothered if they don't wear so long. I can see no difference whatsoever in terms of grip either in the wet or dry. In fact I'm delighted with them. The Pilots were going to be well over £100 each. They are definitely a quiet tyre. The Continental 'Ecos' are also said to be quiet.

The rating may be an issue for the insurance company if it doesn't match what it should be. They'll use any excuse not to pay up!

I was pondering on replacing the two rear tyres on our C5 for Continental Premium Contact H rated tyres not too long ago. It was the subject of a topic in this forum. I checked with my insurance company and the underwriter confirmed it was not a problem, as long as I never exceeded the speed rating of the tyres (which is 130 mph). As there is no chance of me doing that, I went ahead and had them fitted. They fitted H rated tyres to the 2.2 HDI SX, as far as I know (ours is an Exclusive).
I have to say that I haven't noticed any change in the ride comfort, handling or noise. The car has Pilot Primacy on the front wheels.
