Of course people will link to the BBC website, and there is no particular issue with doing so - in moderation.
So, if it is part of a discussion in the BAckroom and you wish to refer to the BBC, or any other website, then by all means do so.
On the other hand if you simply post a link to another site, so that we are essentially acting as a portal, then think again.
